Welcome
In
1953 the men of Mu Sigma filed for a charter with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and on May 15th, 1953 the Zeta
Omicron Chapter was founded at Georgia
Teachers College. The
early Southern College wouldn't allow fraternities on campus but our founders
convinced them that Phi Mu Alpha would be the best choice to introduce a Greek
way of life to Georgia
Southern students. In our early days we were what might be called a
"hit" on campus. Our 1955 figure was over 40 active members, a
virtually unheard of figure at the time. It wasn't until 1967 that more greek
fraternities began to organize on campus, making Phi Mu Alpha by far the oldest
Greek organization on campus.
We
are having our annual Low Country Broil October 16, 2004 at 6:00pm. For more
information email Grant Buro.
